The USA and Croatia agree on the need to preserve the constitutional balance in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that lasting peace and stability cannot be achieved without the full and equal representation of all three constituent peoples, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman said on Friday.

He made this comment following his meeting with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Dayton, Ohio, where the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session was taking place.

"Croatia is proud to be a reliable partner in strengthening Euro-Atlantic security, through our expanding LNG capacities, our active role in the Three Seas Initiative, and our enduring support for the Dayton Peace Agreement," the Croatian minister wrote on the Facebook page.

"In that context, we both emphasised the urgent need to preserve Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional balance."

"We firmly rejected both secessionism and hegemonic centralism. The only sustainable path forward lies in ensuring the full and equal representation of all three constituent peoples, without which lasting peace and stability cannot be achieved," said the minister who thanked Deputy Secretary Landau for a very constructive and forward-looking exchange.

"Croatia remains firmly committed to working alongside the United States in support of peace, security, and shared interests."

"I had a highly productive and forward-looking meeting today in Dayton with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau where we reaffirmed the strength and depth of the Croatia–U.S. partnership. We exchanged views on advancing our Strategic Dialogue, enhancing energy cooperation, and promoting stability in Southeast Europe," the Croatian minister added.
