Morocco’s National Social Security Fund (CNSS) has announced that many of the documents circulating online, allegedly leaked following a recent cyberattack, are either false, inaccurate, or deliberately distorted.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the CNSS confirmed that its IT systems had been targeted by a series of cyberattacks aimed at bypassing security protocols. The incident resulted in a data breach, the origin and full scope of which are still under investigation.
The CNSS stated that as soon as the breach was detected, its cybersecurity protocol was activated. Corrective measures were immediately implemented to contain the breach and reinforce the institution’s digital infrastructure. Additional resources have also been mobilized to identify the specific data that may have been compromised.
Underscoring its commitment to protecting personal data and user confidentiality, the CNSS revealed that an internal administrative investigation is ongoing and that the relevant judicial authorities have been notified.
“We urge all citizens and media outlets to exercise caution and responsibility,” the statement added. “Sharing or disseminating falsified or leaked data may result in legal consequences.”
