Director of Communications at State House has strongly denied circulating rumours suggesting that President Julius Maada Bio intends to hand over power to opposition leader Dr. Samura Kamara on April 27, 2025, Sierra Leone’s Independence Day.
In a statement issued by the Director of Communications Myk Berewa, the presidency described the claim—purportedly made in a fake ECOWAS press release—as completely unfounded and deliberately misleading.
“The fictitious ECOWAS Press Release alleging that President Julius Maada Bio intends to surrender power to Samura Kamara on Independence Day is entirely false and misguiding,” Berewa stated, urging the public to disregard such misinformation.
The clarification comes amid growing social media chatter and politically charged speculation following the alleged document, which has since been discredited
