Doha, Qatar: Msheireb Properties has revealed plans for its Garangao 2025 celebrations on March 14 and 15 at Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The event will showcase traditional activities celebrating the mid-Ramadan children’s festival, reinforcing Downtown’s position as the cultural hub of Qatar during national celebrations.

Dr Hafiz Ali Abdulla, Senior Director of Corporate Communication at Msheireb Properties, said, “As the beating heart of Doha, Msheireb Downtown is designed to be a community-centred space where Qatari traditions are preserved and celebrated. Garangao exemplifies our commitment to creating a vibrant urban environment where cultural heritage flourishes alongside modern living. Our district continues to serve as the central gathering place for Qatar’s most significant cultural celebrations throughout the year.”

The Garangao programme includes community celebration on March 14. Tram tours distributing Garangao sweets will run throughout the city, accompanied by traditional processions with drumming through residential areas, while children in traditional attire will perform cultural songs across Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The main event will be held at Hosh Msheireb on March 15: The celebration features a Garangao Fashion Show with traditional Qatari clothing, game stations with classic activities such as Al Teelah and Sega, storytelling sessions, and a 360-degree photo experience, all supporting charitable initiatives with Qatar Charity.

“Msheireb Downtown Doha was conceived and built around the principle of cherishing Qatari identity while creating a forward-looking community space,” added Dr. Abdulla.  “Our Garangao celebrations demonstrate how our district serves as the cultural nexus of Doha, bringing together residents and visitors to experience authentic traditions in a contemporary setting.”

Local partnerships include a traditional candy store and a special Suhoor experience at Saasna restaurant designed for families on Garangao night. Registration is open via Msheireb Properties’ social media channels. Entry is open to the public with a suggested charitable donation.
