On Monday, April 22, Austria’s Kaleen is officially saying goodbye to Vienna. And the “We Will Rave” hitmaker will do it in style at the swanky Le Méridien Hotel in the heart of the Austrian capital. The hotel has views of the splendid Ringstrasse and the serene Schillerplatz. But all eyes will be on Kaleen as she performs her Eurovision song and a sprinkling of tunes from her debut album Stripping Feelings.
The event starts at 18:30 Vienna time and we’ll be living streaming it on the Wiwibloggs YouTube channel. Austrians can also watch on TVthek.ORF.at and ORF ON.

Austrian broadcaster ORF confirmed that Kaleen would sing at Eurovision back on January 16th. Fans wondered aloud whether we would be treated to another Chanel- or Eleni-styled dance number, given Kaleen’s reputation as an incredible dancer and four-time world champion. Videos of her incredible stage work cropped up all over social media, leaving fans gagged.
She’s also a bit of a Eurovision insider, having worked behind-the-scenes at Eurovision since 2018. Among other things, she was a stand-in for Eurovision 2018 rehearsals (when directors and producers get the show in order) and a creative director for Spain and Bulgaria in Junior Eurovision. She was also overall stage director and creative director at Junior Eurovision 2022.
In 2023, she was a creative lead for four acts at Eurovision. These were Georgia’s Iru, Armenia’s Brunette, Germany’s Lord of the Lost; and of course, “Who The Hell is Edgar?” — Austria’s fan-favourite entry by Teya & Salena.
As a seasoned choreographer and multi-talented dancer, she’s got the experience in front of and behind the camera to burn the stage in Malmö.
The vocals are pretty weak and the choreo is super cliché. Reading the Wiwbliggs articles ever since her announcement, I was expecting a much stronger package. We will see, what it looks like in Malmö. But in its current state, the is is making me sad.
I really don’t get the hype for this. And I dislike the music video so much. Haters gonna hate. But if people talk about that something feels dated than this surely is.
I want to like it, I like the studio version, but the live vocals are really not where they should be. I feel this will stay in semi unless she gets those vocals under control.

We’ve already said farewell to singing live, apparently, give that the backing track does all the work. And all due respect, being the creative director of Edgar, Iru and Lord of the Lost is hardly good advertisement given that one failed to qualify, one came last and one had actually some promise and was done dirty by extremely bad staging. Even Brunette scored way behind her potential. What an uninspiring choice.
