Delhi University to declare MBA programme’s third semester results on time

NEW DELHI: Recommendations made by an oversight committee constituted by Delhi University (DU) pertaining to a structure of the MBA (business economics) programme were recently passed by the varsity’s academic council. Officials said that the recommendation of the committee to declare the results of the third semester without the dissertation component was a “one-time measure in the interest of students.”
The issue was pertaining to evaluation and declaration of a component that involved project work, which students were required to complete in their third and fourth semesters.The master’s dissertation, which comprised four credits, was under the choice-based credit system.
The committee observed, “…(members) deliberated upon the issue at length taking into consideration the interest of students who have already taken this examination and would be adversely affected in case the results are not declared on time by the examination branch.”
Stating that the non-evaluation of the master’s dissertation by the department may hamper the students, the committee recommended that results of the third semester be declared without taking into consideration the master’s dissertation so as to facilitate teaching learning in the fourth semester as per schedule “subject to the condition that the department makes adequate amendment in the course structure or evaluation plan immediately through prescribed procedure, before the fourth semester begins, to set right the anomaly created in this process.”
