Bollywood’s ‘Shahenshah’, Amitabh Bachchan, has triggered a furore on Twitter by posting a cryptic message on his recent blog post. Speculations about the 77-year-old retiring and bidding farewell to the film industry have been rife ever since he posted a photograph on Twitter and said that his body is giving him a signal to slow down.

Bachchan’s Tumblr blog post further fanned the flames of retirement buzz. The thespian began the post by talking about travelling to Manali via car to shoot for his upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’. The megastar also elaborated on the simplicity and the generous hospitality of the small town.

However, the blog post ended on a somewhat cryptic note, Bachchan wrote “I must retire .. the head is thinking something else and the fingers another .. its a message ..”.

The usage of the word ‘retire’ in the blog post was quite telling and Twitterati couldn’t help but speculate if the veteran actor was trying to send across a message about his future in the film industry.

However, the usage of the word ‘retire’ could simply mean that the actor wished to retire and go to his bed for the night.

The megastar was last spotted at the Gateway of India, paying tribute to the heroes of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The actor had previously made an appearance at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa and felicitated south superstar Rajinikanth with ‘Icon of Golden Jubilee’ award.
