MP: Army will soon possess weapons with “made in Armenia” label

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lawmaker from the ruling My Step parliamentary bloc Tigran Karapetyan has declared that the Armenian army will soon possess some weapons carrying the “made in Armenia” label.

“The past 18 years of my life have been connected with this sector (military industry - Ed.),” Karapetyan said, adding that former authorities encouraged the import of weapons rather than building them in the country.

The member of parliament said a military-industrial revolution is currently underway in Armenia.

According to him, just one month after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took office, the construction of a military-industrial plant was initiated.

“In the past 10 years, contracts with six new suppliers have been signed,” Karapetyan said, failing to provide more details, however.
