Boulder’s Tibet Gallery, a mainstay on the Pearl Street Mall since 1998, is in the process of moving to a new location a few blocks away.
The original location at 1916 13th St. will remain open — and feature moving sales — until July. The new, larger location at 1909 Ninth St. Suite 120 had a soft opening last week.
“This is a transition time between the old store and the new one,” Tibet Gallery owner Tenzin Passang said. “It wasn’t a planned move, but everything happens for a reason.”
He said the landlord who owns the 13th Street property wants to renovate the building and asked Passang to vacate.
While Passang said he will miss the shop he’s operated for 20 years, he harbors no hard feelings about being asked to move. The property owner gave him plenty of time to find a new location, he said.
The new shop sells the same variety of Tibetan rugs, crafts, art, crystals, jewelry, clothing, and meditation and ritual products.
