Fresh off a spring game weekend that led to commitments from four prospects, the Oregon Ducks football program appears poised to add to its recruiting haul.
On Monday, Under Armour All-American and consensus four-star cornerback Jeffery Carter took to Twitter to announce that he has news coming in two days:
That's good news for Oregon, as the Ducks made a strong impression on the nation's No. 3 cornerback this weekend, and appear to be in excellent position to secure his pledge.
The 6-foot, 182-pound athlete, out of Aledo High School (Aledo, Texas), holds offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, Georgia, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and others.
Prediction: Carter to Oregon
All signs point to Carter committing to Oregon on Wednesday - and, if not Wednesday, then down the road.
Oregon, known for teasing commitments, used its official recruiting account, @OregonGridiron, to hint at possible big news looming:
The account also quickly retweeted Carter's announcement of impending big news.
That alone probably wouldn't be enough to make a firm prediction, but Carter was reportedly blown away by his trip to Eugene.
Expect Oregon to add the nation's No. 3 cornerback if, in fact, he commits this week.
If he does commit, Carter would become the sixth pledge in the Ducks' 2019 recruiting class, joining four-star defensive tackle Keyon Ware-Hudson, four-star linebacker Mase Funa, four-star athletes Jayvaun Wilson and Cameron Williams and three-star cornerback Marques Caldwell.
Whether it's this week, or in the future, Oregon is in good shape to add Carter.
